Happy New Year!
What better way to start of the year than with some fabulous fashions!? Today, we’re recapping some our favorite, amazing looks that graced the Red Carpet at the 2016 Gold Globe Awards.

Here are just a few of our breathtaking favorites from the evening! Who did you all find stunning at the Golden Globes this year!?

Hello, everyone!
We here at Rajni Alex Design want to wish you a happy New Year!

In the words of Neil Gaiman:
I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you’ll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you’ll make something that didn’t exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind.Â
Happy 2016!

Merry Christmas from all of us here at Rajni Alex Design!!
We hope you have a wonderful day with your loved ones 🙂

We are happy to have this opportunity to spend time with our families and friends that we don’t get to see as much as we wish to. We’ll be back soon with more posts, but in the meantime, enjoy the Holidays, just as we’re doing! For more updates, you can follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Hello, everyone!
Christmas is a week away, and if you are like us, you want to spend it with family or friends. The thing is, for many of us, our family and friends don’t live nearby. Which means either we have to travel to see them, or they have to travel to see us. Some of us here at Rajni Alex Design are traveling abroad to be with family (expect a London post early in January!), some of us are hosting family, but anyways, there’s going to be a lot of traveling going on. And while we love the fact that travel allows us to be with our loved ones and to see different places, the actual travel from one place to the other is not usually the most comfortable experience.
Whether it’s by plane, train, or car, traveling means long periods of time in a confined space. So here are some items to make your journey more fun, comfortable, and easy:

We’re sure there are many items we could add to this list, but we tried to stick to the essentials. Don’t forget to always keep valuables in your carry-on luggage, as well as electronics; also make sure you have a change of clothes in case your luggage is misplaced. And remember to not get too stressed; traveling can be awkward at times, but it is absolutely worth it!
Well, we have to go pack now, but we’ll be back here soon. In the meantime, you can follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Hello, everyone!
We here at Rajni Alex Design hope you are all doing well, and having a great week. We are super excited!! Why? Because Christmas is 15 days away!!!!! So very soon, we’ll be having a wonderful time with our loved ones!
Some of us will be traveling to meet family, and so we’re getting everything ready now, and there’s one task that we have to accomplish soon: gift-wrapping. Whether you love it or hate it, it is an important Christmas ritual. Why? Because it shows your loved ones that not only you put some thought into picking a gift for them, you also took the time to wrap it in a way that looks beautiful. It is a sign of attention to your loved ones. To receive a gift wrapped like this…

Is much nicer than to receive a gift like this…

Wrapping a gift beautifully is not very complicated, but technique matters, so here are a couple of youtube tutorials that you may find useful:
First, here’s a link to a basic gift wrapping tutorial.
Now, if you’re a bit craftier, here’s a tutorial to a japanese gift wrap.
You’ll obviously need some wrapping paper, so here are a few great Christmasy options:

These are also many options of ribbons and bows out there. Wrapping presents doesn’t have to be a chore: have fun with it! And remember that you’re doing it because it will make the person receiving the gift feel special 🙂

Hello, everyone!

Hope you’re all doing well, and as excited as we are that tomorrow is Thanksgiving!
We can’t wait to spend time with our families, eat some good food, and have a wonderful weekend. We also hope to catch up on some Christmas shopping, but since being in a crowd and spending huge chunks of time in line is not our idea of fun, we’ve been looking at some great options online, and we decided to share some of our finds with you guys 🙂
So here are some options for him, for her, and under $50

Hey, everyone!
We here at RAD are sooooooo excited!!! It’s week 6 of the One Room Challenge, which means we get to share everything about our dining room with you guys! We’ve had an amazing 5 weeks, but it was just so hard to save enough surprises for the reveal. We’re ecstatic that the wait is over, and we have a finished room to share with you guys. But first, let’s recap. This paneled dining room looked a bit glum when we first started, as you can see in the pictures below:
It was very dark, so the first thing we decided on was to paint the paneling a light gray in order to brighten up the room. Â We then decided to go with some more modern furniture that mixes well with the more traditional style of the paneling. Here is the floor plan we created for the room:
If you haven’t followed us along this journey and you want a more detailed recap, you can reach our previous posts through the links below:

So here is the final product! We are absolutely thrilled about how this room turned out!!
This is our favorite shot of the room! We absolutely love how in this picture you can see the brass in the chandelier, sconces, and the bottom of the table. The paneling looks great, and we’re happy we chose a more gold palette for the fabrics, because it adds some warmth to the room.
Also, you guys get to finally see the chairs! These are West Elm chairs that our clients already had, and we had them reupholstered from a dark gray to gold so they match our vision for the space. And in this picture you guys can also see the rug. We think it looks amazing, especially since it’s an indoor/outdoor rug.
And here is the buffet area 🙂
We had chosen a different piece of art by West Elm to go above the buffet, but when we were styling the room we did not think it looked that great, so we were very happy to see this piece of art in our clients’ hallway. It looks wonderful with the gray paneling! The actual buffet is probably the darkest piece in the room, but we think it adds some beautiful contrast. If we had gone for something lighter, we feel it would have blended into the space a bit too much. We also love the brass hardware on it!
We love that in the above shot you get a really good look at the paneling, including the trim. Also, we love how the chair fabric, as well as the brass back of the sconce, really pop against the gray tones. The curtains are also a wonderful blend of gray, with the trim, and gold in the pattern.
This detail shot of the trim really shows the beautiful woodwork we were lucky to work with. We chose to go with a darker gray in high gloss for the trim so that it stands out against the paneling, and we’re very happy with the results!
We love these detail shots of some of our accessories! For those of you who read our Week 5 post, not every single item on our accessories mood board made it to the photo shoot. When we started styling the room, we realized a few of them just did not fit into the room, and so we left them out.
This is our second ORC project, and the whole process was so different! Last time we had to knock down walls and change everything about the rooms we were working with. This time we were just so incredibly lucky that we got a room with the most amazing bones! The paneling was the perfect starting point for this room, and we are so happy we got to keep it. And even though we had an amazing time last year breaking down walls and recreating the space from the start, being able to keep the walls and paneling made our timeline much less stressful this time around 🙂 We’re very happy that we got to focus on the decor for this project, and every single thing that went into this room was something that we feel belongs there.
Here is a mood board with every piece in the room (apart from the accessories), and where you can find them:
We have loved being a part of the ORC community again! Over the last few weeks, we’ve received so much encouragement from you all through your comments, and we’ve been inspired by the work of our fellow ORC participants. We love this opportunity to follow each other’s work as it progresses, and we’re really glad we decided to participate again. So make sure to check the amazing rooms by both the Wednesday participants as well as the guest participants! And if you want to keep up with us now that the ORC is done, make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
A great WordPress.com site
I said go for the knockout.
